|

Hi
I've been using TTN 3 on my HP Ipaq 4150 for a good few months now and am delighted with it (Bluetooth version....although I find I end up plugging the wires in so I don't get caught out on a long journey!!!....it's happened!)......
BUT....I wonder if it's just my lack of knowledge of the product, but I like to use a particular motorway (M40), rather than the M1, but every time I plan the journey TTN3 insists on taking me up the M1. So, I go for the alternative route and it duly gives me the route via the M40. However, when I save the route and then re-load it, it's always the original route (the M1 version!!)......am I missing something here? I thought that if you had the route planned and then saved it, it would save exactly what the current route was???
I'd be very grateful for anyone who could step me through the process IN CASE I'm missing something....
I usually save the locations I'm visisting frequently in My Favourites and then use them to go to again, but this one has got me stumped!!
Many thanks for any help.
Chris. |

Saving a route actually only saves start and end point but not any other preferences. In TomTom Navigator 3 you can use permanent avoids to exclude the M1 from any calculations. Sadly this will no longer be possible in TTN5. _________________ Lutz

You need to use the Itinerary function and keep adding Waypoints until the calculated route is the one you want. Usually you only need a couple of waypoints. Then save the Itinerary and Load it when you want to use it. (I believe this function will still be available in TTN5

If you put some avoids at various points along the motorway you want tomtom to ignore that should do the trick ! They will stay in place until you cancell them
