Have a look at my POIManager program. The latest version is available in the Programs area on my website http://rjdavies.users.btopenworld.com

Thanks. Oldie, but there is something I don't understand.
When merging a master file with an update filem and unselect the radius <1 and <20 ...
I understand the "Save as new entry" will keep the dupliacte with name entered in the "First matching Entry" group.
Skip is certainly going to skip the duplicate entry and not put it in the output file
... but what is "Position, Text and Both" ?!?

These buttons allow you to change the Master entry. It is possible to edit the text associated with the update entry. So this modified text can be used to replace that in the master entry by selecting the <Text> button. The update coordinates will be used if the <Position> button is used. <Both> will use the coordinates and text associated with update instead of those of the master entry.
That is the theory anyway. In practice I used POIManager mainly for duplicate checking of a Master file and extracting new entries from an Update file (ie with Append unchecked). I ended up not using the Position, Text and Both buttons.

Thank you,
But what is that difference between the "Append" checked or not ?
Means will keep the Duplicate entries or not ?? |

With Append checked the Output file will have the Master file entries and the retained entries from the Update file.
With Append unchecked only the retained entries from the Update file will be sent to the Output file.
