I've seen that TT says that the maps have been updates according to Teleatlas' latest maps. This really doesn't say much (TT is always very evasive in the replys - specially in what regards to map updates and detail).
Will the their maps be in fact updated?
I'm specially interested in the Portuguese maps which, I confess are pretty bad. There are important roads missing, very few cities are detailed and there are many map errors, for example: roads that have ceased to exist 15 years ago are still on the map, towns with wrong names etc. |

It's the same game every year. You really have to wait until the maps are out before you can judge their actuality and accuracy.
If you want to waste some cycles go to a web map site that uses TeleAtlas data, and check if at least TeleAtlas got it right. If they did then at least there's a chance that TomTom got it, too. _________________ Lutz

Portugal is still not very good but , on TT Mobile 5 you get this -
http://tomtom.com/products/section.php?ID=69&Section=68&Language=1
Street Network Coverage:
E: 86 %
AD: 99%
P: 43%
Which is probably double the coverage from before. Its higher claimed coverage than Navteq's latest maps. |
