Hi
Has any one had a similar problem - my 2210 will not restart afer soft reset, the blue bar goes across the screen to the end and thats it. nothing just stays in that state.
Have to take out battery and go though the hard reset set up again, but then start to load any program back on again and when it asks for a soft reset, you do not get past the blue line.

Has my PPC has had it !!! Sad

Any ideas would be most helpful

Machine was new in Nov 2003 Rom ver 1.10

Thanks
Dave

Have you tried this without a memory card inserted?

Darren

Have just tried as you said with out any memory cards inserted, but still the same problem.

What i have found if you can load a program with out requiring a soft reset, seem ok, but as soon as a program requires as soft reset,it locks up with the blue line.

If i remember corectly TT3 does an auto reset after install.

Thanks anyway
Dave

Hmm, short of trying to re-apply the ROM Update or running the 2210 Self Test I don't know what to suggest, certainly it shouldn't be doing that and may need to be looked at.

I suspect you were lucky, in this case it appears to happen on a virgin system after a hard reset which is not a good sign Sad

It is always possible that re-applying the ROM update 'might' fix whatever is causing this, got to be worth a try?

Hi,

Thanks for the comments.
I tried the HP self test on the Ipaq and still got the same problem. The self diagnostics on the 2210 website tells me there is no problem with the machine!
I then ran the ROM update which said was successful, but sadly still the same problem after a soft reset.
I strongly suspect there is a major hardware problem with the machine.
The next question is how much might it cost to get it repaired, or am I better cutting my losses and going for a new machine??
Thanks for your support & quick replies.
Dave

As it's out of warranty you could ask these guys, they'll investigate the problem and give you a quote without obligation:
