although i didn't announce it, i am quite happy using it, i thought forums were to share information.
i got a satnav in august and by december its telling me my maps are out of date and i have to purchase new software at 50% of the cost of the satnav! well i think its garmin who are out of order. i bought 2 of these units and sold 1 at cost to a mate, who i'm waiting to get a moan about the updates needed for him. sure i know maps need updating at some time, but i shouldn't have to be told its out of date every time its turned on, making the unit unsellable (sorted now by firmware rollback, with thanks to this forum). maybe just send people a reminder by post/email instead, or just send an update notice to them that requested it. |

hi there,
i am currently still recieving the same error -
This Master Coupon Code does not contain any Garmin units that currently have MapSource updates available. Garmin's Automotive MapSource applications are generally updated annually and the Bluechart software is updated twice a year. Please check back periodically to see if MapSource updates are available for your Garmin unit. Click here to return to the Master Coupon Code entry screen[i]
having read the forum i am still a bit confused about how to obtain my map update for my garmin i3. purchased 1st december 2006. help!
thank you for your time |

jdall01, somewhere in this thread someone said they'd ordered the update DVD via e-mail. Can't remember who it was or how far back in the thread, but if you have a look I'm sure you'll find it. _________________ Anita

@ jdall01
if i'd have purchased my garmin on december 1st, (and please do not think i am suggesting you didn't) i would take it back to a shop for a refund. surely you shouldn't have to go through the hassle of trying to get an update - even if its free. |

Well, actually, believe it or not I thought that I might be helping some of you who like me purchesed units at the end of August 2006 to find that the maps were updated on 1 September. Also, I purchase my unit specifically as we were going on holiday to Ireland only to find out that only the very main roads were covered and most of them were wrong due to many new roads being built. The unit was advertised with Ireland maps! Quite frankly, I think that it is more than reasonable to obtain updated maps in these circumstances and if my experience is similar and helpful to just one more person on this forum then I will be very pleased (This has been my first post on any forum of any kind and I take this opportunity to thank all of you who have taken time and trouble to help others) |

If you've got a UK only map Nuvi, would you get a free upgrade to full Europe do you think? |

It looks like it, from the information I've had from Garmin, but no-one can say for sure till we get the DVD and unlock the maps. _________________ Anita

I would imagine that your unlock code will only permit you to unlock the UK region, if thats the region you originally owned. |

I` m also having this problem,
"This Master Coupon Code does not contain any Garmin units that currently have MapSource updates available. Garmin's Automotive etc., etc,"
I have tried ordering by email, and have received instructions in pdf format from garmin. have followed them to a tee, but still the same message.
@Anita
I wonder if your instructions are the same as mine.
Did yours work?
Regards |

I'm sure they're the same. They worked for me, but some of the people I forwarded them to continued to get the message you're getting.
Have you tried ordering from upgradeoffer.europe@garmin.com, giving them all the codes and information you have for the unit and asking them to send you the City Navigator Europe NT version 9 Deluxe DVD? That seems to have worked for other people who weren't able to order online.
Hope it works for you! _________________ Anita
