You will not be charged for the map if you have it already, just the subscription.
Once you have HOME 2.4, follow the add new map option and you will get a quote. _________________ Darren Griffin

I think you'll have to pay "Nothing for latest map" (because you've already got it) plus 4 times £6.95 for the four quarters ahead - £27.80, grand total £27.80. I offer no guarantee of this - I'm simply cribbing from what I've read here, except I'm not very good with sums, so check 4 x £6.95! _________________ Dennis
Can anybody tell me if Home 2.4 actually works with Tom Tom Navigator (6 or 7) software please or are we left still scraping along with Home 1.5?
I looked at this myself and we are still stuck with 1.5. Until TT release an new Symbian verison I am stuck with maps several years out of date.
Darren, Please can we get a definitive answer from TT what they are intending to do about us Symbian users? I understand that WM users now have version 7. They cannot leave us out in the cold much longer. There are some packages coming up on the rails very quickly on TT. _________________ iPhone5, TomTom, Google maps, Navfree, Viewranger and Apple Maps (ekk)

Whilst TT7 is out, it's a pre-install on certain HTC hardware, it is NOT available to buy standalone.
We have asked time and again and TT are either silent on the subject or deny any plans to produce new consumer version for PPC or Symbian. _________________ Darren Griffin
Managed to try this at home and have purchased a years subscription for £27.80 That's amazing... A year of map updates AND a year of PocketGPSWorld updates all under £50... What a bargain. I love my TomTom
Did anybody get a confirmation email after payment? Still don't have one...
Also, my map is currently up to date as of now... If and when there are updates, how do I get them (Being as they should now be free)?
Finally, noticed mapshare... Hadn't turned this feature on before. Does anybody have a guide for this? I notice it says "free for 12 months". How much does this cost after? Is it worth buying, also? Any other bits and bobs, or settings, I need to know? If a moderator believes it is necessary for this to have its own thread I'll post a new one... Just don't want to "spam" the forum

Just checked out your updated price guide Darren, and notice that the percentage is linked to the age of the map I have installed,... How do I determine the age of map ver. 720 I downloaded three weeks ago,... does the age of this particular map start when I was offered it as the latest map via LMG... or when the map was first introduced onto the marketplace ?
I am offered 85% on update and subscription at the moment, so they are calculating my map between 3 and 6 months old, but wonder how long I will qualify for that discount, as I can't afford to update so soon after purchasing the machine.

Try a search for mapshare. There is sooooooooooooo much written about it and if we start again now, we can add a few more pages!! This isn't a flame, just a hint to have look - there is much more elsewhere than we can add to this thread. _________________ Dennis

I don't have the information to hand to be able to date a map sorry, others may be able to assist you. What version map do you have? _________________ Darren Griffin

I assume it is the very last of the ver 720 maps Darren as I downloaded it on the same day that ver 810 was made available... ... it is ver 720.1803 the App on this Go 520 is 8.010... I would ask on the Tom Tom support site, but I don't think they want to speak to me anymore......

Thanks, I've now had a look... Sure is a lot of information out there, though I'm not sure if it convinces me to turn MapShare on or not I've been searching on TomTom website and I cannot seem to find anything about this whole "12 month free". I kinda get the impression that the whole service *is* free... But then what is so special about "12 month free"? Odd.
Meanwhile, to anybody who has updated, did you ever get an email confirmation or invoice from TomTom? I havn't... Come to think of it I've never received an email from TomTom (Have checked that my email address is correct in HOME).
How will I know when there are any updates? And how will I access them?
I can understand that there is a difference in the purchase price of the latest map, relative to you current map. But, why does there seem to be differences in the Quarterly subscriptions of £6.95 and £9.95 ?

I guess because one is for map of UK and Ireland and the other is for maps of Western Europe? Larger area covered = higher charge. Seems fair to me, since it is exactly the same principle used when buying them in the first place. _________________ Peter

I think it's brilliant value. My existing map of Western Europe is nearly a year old. I was able to update to the latest version for £23.85 and buy a year's update subscription for a further £31.80. The new map is downloading now- just over half way and an hour to go!
Well done TomTom!

DanielBrookes, I think you'll find that, before the latest news, officially Mapshare was free for 12 months then stopped unless you bought a new map.
Now if you're paying for quarterly updates, I don't know. I guess Mapshare carries on as long as you're updating but that's just a guess. _________________ TT Go Essential
