If you think that is bad, when I bought my first one back in 2005 I *paid* around £29.99 for Lifetime subscription to the database and then they made it free, and now they want to charge me again.

Silly thing is as soon as it says 'not responding' people tend to kill the program - but it shows the warning at the point it's doing what you want it to do...

Thanks, I'll disable the Garmin version and see what shows up after.
I can't get Ash's program to run on win7. It starts alright, I untick the approach options and click apply and it just hangs.

I contacted them about that as I have two i3s for which no updated maps are available.
They told me that maps would be available for as long as you own the unit. |

I eventually settled for the Garmin 1490LMT which has lifetime map updates and traffic.
Will just have to see how it performs. |

Before just buying a 1490 today, I used a Garmin i3, and loaded a custom poi file created from http://findthebestroute.com/RouteFinder.html
Then I would just select the next post code in that file. ... |

I'm planning on replacing my aging Garmin i3 units with a reasonably modern unit. At present it is either a nuvi 1410 or 265WT.

How about an InfoRad? They all use our database so you will at least know the data is the best there is and they have lifetime free updates.

Managed to drive past both the other day, and get the mph warnings.
Was unable to go above 30 due to traffic so did not get to see cameras on the device.

Ok, I committed to a hard reset of my i3, and reloaded the cameras.
I also obtained another i3 and loaded the cameras to that.
Went past the camera and it now showed on both i3.
