Yes, TomTom traffic should work with the USB receiver. (but it won't be HD Traffic)

When you plug it in it should be recognised. Do you get a new bar down the right hand side of the screen?

Just replaced my old PDA with TT XL IQ Routes which had an inline TMC on the 12v car USB does anyone know whether this will work with TT Traffic and what do I have to do?

Well it isn't the operating system update that has stopped your voice alerts. I have exactly the same version on my XL LIVE IQ Routes Edition, and all my voice alerts are working fine.

XL IQ will be fine for POI files and warnings
