The reset was using web updater and downloading the last software update which is what the guy at Garmin suggested.
Not aware of any other way to do it.
Downgrading to an earlier firmware tends to ... |

Where is the unit mounted and do you have one of these athermic (or whatever they're called) windscreens that can hinder signals?
Does sound like signal lag to me maybe a cause

Never heard of it before as far as I remember and I'm a member of various Garmin forums. If a hard reset hasn't cured it then I suspect it's time for a new unit
