The NB decommissioned one in the middle of J4A is not on the site.
There were too many Hadecs to remember and I couldn't write whilst driving. |

Now the 'managed motorway' works are finishing, several of the average speed cameras have been decommissioned.
But there seems to be a Hadecs camera on almost every gantry. |

As far as I know, they are variable speed point (not average speed) cameras.
There are only 2 in each direction : EB and WB between J26 and J27; EB near J25 (just east of the tunnels) and WB just b ... |

If I'm on a motorway for the next x miles, I would like a unit that switches its display off until, say, 3 miles before I need to know anything rather than being on continuously. |

Check that as well as choosing British National Grid as the coordinate format, you have also selected the OSGB (or similar named) datum, not WGS84. |

They are quite good for off-road navigation but the dealbreaker for me is that it is impossible to install maps other than those bought through Lowrance. |

Well, you could put an Android smartphone in an Aquapac, run Memory-map UK charts and there are several Tide Times apps available. Total cost about £170. |
