It may be that the old database was the single file version, and now you have the multiple file version, you may need to select the cameras in the Point of Interest setup

Tomtom 5.0 used to hammer my battery life much quicker then with Tomtom 3.
I have had the same problem, due to the fact when TOMTOM 5 is running the battery stops charging even though it's connect ... |

The plus map includes the major roads of Europe hence the size difference.

I have the Ipaq 3870 running TT3, with a wired rikaline 6010 GPS mouse,
I also suffered problems and rolled back to the 2.7 GPS driver, this seems to have cured the hangup problems.
