I'm WAY beyond my knowledge level here. Thanks for your assist. Hopefully someone will jump in here with a new idea.

Well, I do not have an Explorer backup, only a HOME backup (lesson learned here.) Based on what I saw on another forum site, here's what I have done now.
Go to Add Maps, Traffic, Voices, etc.,then ... |

AHA  I may have now found the answer, remove s.d. card from said tomtom insert directly into computor and hay presto it seems to work. A odd way of doing things but there you are. ... |

Do you have a backup pre-update?
I do, but HOME will not even recognize that I have the SD memory card inserted. It says I do not have enough memory to restore my backup. |
