Here in Luxembourg, nav systems (aka smartphones, TomTom…) are only allowed in left lower corner of the windshield on the driver side. Even little teddies on the mirror aren't allowed.

The problem with turn-by-turn apps here in Europe is that they are only free to use in the range of your provider area!
If you travel to another country horribly high charges are to pay!

Try a GPS utility like WinFast Navigator to see if the same effect occurs. If not then indeed Mapsonic would be to blame.
