Does the battery not supply 3.7v and the USB Power Supply 5V? That could be a problem?
It should power up when connected to the power supply irrespective of there being a battery in it or not... ... |

I've got a similar problem - electrical fault in the car blew the fuse in the radio and unfortunately I had the Slim plugged in on charge at the same time.
Symptoms are the same - the Slim will run ... |
