When I start CamerAlert and the database is out of date, I get a spoken warning that I need to update. But CamerAlert has already launched TomTom, meaning I have to switch back and update manually.

I might be being a bit daft here, but couldn't it be boiled down to one simple rule for all countries? Namely:

Capitalise the letter if the user has pressed Shift. Otherwise don't.
