Have used my 760 in the UK, France, Belgium and Italy and haven't had anything like the problems you describe, but then I don't rely on the voice directions, preferring to refer to the on screen map.

Yeah, what Paddywack said. The only Garmin units I know of that can save routes are the 7xx series (and possibly the newer 8xx series) and the Zumo 550. |

I don't think it is possible to save routes on the 250 (though I would be happy to be proved wrong).
I think the best you can do is save your destination and intermediate via points as favourites, ... |
