I've tried with the gps driver but the same fault comes up.
I have no other software that uses anything external.
I will try and reload tom tom from scratch along with the driver and go from there. ...

I have however encountered a new problem. The gps software works fine at recognising the receiver now by turning the beams off but my version of tom tom 3 won't recognise the gp ...
