It took also ages here (at least 2 hours) before everything was installed, despite the fast PC and connection. I don't why it should take so long. Not the most efficient way to update.

Sounds like your USB port may not be giving the Navigon enough juice. Try plugging it in overnight (ensuring the PC doesn't turn itself off or go into powersave) and leave the Navigon to charge overni ...
