Just stabbing in the dark but my phone has different sound levels for different things. Check all of them and see if one is on max.

well, my flabber is ghasted.....I moved it to internal storage (i.e. PROPER internal storage and it launched OK

I have, I did, and no it still doesn't work  .... but the latest version of Android treats the SD card as internal storage anyway |

| so, are you allowed to tap the screen to answer it handsfree using the in-built loudspeaker ?.... surely no different from, say, switching radio stations or operating other switches in the car |

Thanks yes, I did consider that.....but the smartphone is tucked away when driving (!!!)
I also need one in my van as I can't use smartphone app (company lockdown) so all I need is an audible warning ... |
