Hi
hope someone can anwser these ?s
first .
I am thinking of buying the TomTom palm T3 navigation bundle, But what I want to know is does the TomTom craddle have its own speaker?
and is it any good, IE can you hear it?
second.
I have a hiacom gps reciever that has a usb connector, is it possible to convert this to use with a Seidio or akron cradle?
Third, If I can use my hiacom receiver then I am thinking of using the Mapsonic software, any thoughts on this ?
So in closing, I am looking for the best way to get navigation on my T3. |

The TT cradle for the T3 doesn't have its own speaker, but I find that the audio from the T3 is fine for me.
Why do you need an external speaker? It's only basic voice after all. I guess you could hook up the T3's mini-jack to something else if necessary. |

Agree with previous poster - volume can be increased on T3 after all. Also check position in your car - with the TomTom mount, you should be able to position the T3 so that its nearer to you.
Alternatively get a FM Radio transmitter and plug it into the earphone socket of your T3 - this then sends the voice signal to your stereo - but of course, you can't listen to music until someone comes out with one that uses RDS or similar to buzz in and out when a voice message is issued by the TTN3 software...
There are many products available - eg the Arkon SF250 SoundFeeder Digital Wireless Audio Adaptor available from http://www.expansys.com/product.asp?code=108749
for 28 quid - then volume is a function of your stereo. Of course, it uses batteries - but apparently they last 60hrs and there's probably a cigarette lighter adpator or something...

Just back from Hols in Arizona, and I used TT for Palm in the hire car for over 1500 miles. Didnt have any problems hearing the voice instructions at any speed.
I used the TT Mount positioned on the side window. _________________ Mike Barrett |
