"unexpected error occurred during transfer of POI file.......audio file not transferred"
help would be appreciated

Probably sox.exe is missing from the POILoader folder normally at C:\Program Files (x86)\Garmin\POI Loader
PS. You did download the .wav files not the .mp3 didn't you? |

Yes the .wav files were downloaded and show and sox.exe is in the POIloader file and shows
edit: I started from scratch and downloaded a new sox.zip from Kremmen's "spoon fed" instruction link and unzipped it. It shows as sox.exe in POI loadwer |

That error message is slightly different ( I think) from what POILoader tells you on a Sox fail.
Do you have any other saved WAV's you can switch back _________________ Satnav:

I haven't any back up WAV files.
In fact, this also happened on the previous update earlier this year and at the time I put it down to a freak failure. I have been without verbal warnings since then but as my wife dislikes the verbal warnings it was not a problem.
Making a long run into strange territory last week prompted me to update the satnav only to find the same situation whereby the audio (wav) files will not transfer. |

The best I can suggest is to use my Converter.
That has loads of built in validation and will tell you at a glance whether the sox is misplaced or the wav filenames are wrong. _________________ Satnav:

Whatever the problem was it hasn't recurred with a new download. However, I now have another problem. Driving round Bedford today I noticed that specs cameras were not showing or giving a warning.
I modified my route to take in a few more specs (there are plenty in Bedford)
and none activated a warning or showed on the map. I know these cameras are in the database as I pass them regularly. Gatso cameras are indicated correctly.
The download shows gatso. mobile, redlight and specs all with wav, bmp and csv.
I can't get voice warnings when I approach at speed above the limit although that is a bit tricky to do safely. When does the voice warning activate? I know I have read it on here but can't find it again.
Sox is working as the wav file plays the bong and voice.
Any suggestions would be appreciated. |

My suggestion is in the post before yours.
You've got something wrong. Latest download works perfectly for me. _________________ Satnav:

Thank you. I know I have something wrong!
If I can't get the basic download right there's little chance of me understanding the converter.
I'll struggle on...or buy a Cyclops download - the one click job. |
