Every time one turns on the Garmin Drivesmart 61 LMT-D a disclaimer (warning) comes on to which one has to agree. Surely once in a while would be enough, but every time one turns it on? Does anyone know how to disable that?

Chance would be a fine thing, seems common to all Garmins, but if you do nothing, it goes away on its own after a few seconds. Still a pain in the butt though. |

I wish they would swap it for an access PIN instead - it would be a lot more useful. |

What Having to enter a 4 digit pin better than just tapping a popup, or just waiting for it to go away?
What planet do you live on? Planet Security?
Do you have national secrets on your stnav then? |

As said, it goes away on it's own after a few minutes.
Having to enter a pin = fingermarks. I never touch mine.
I am assuming you mean the 'agree' button.
If your talking the EULA screen then that means it needs connecting to a PC and registering it with Garmin, or, connect to a PC and delete the EULA files. _________________ DashCam:

It's not 'a few minutes' K, it's actually a whole 15 seconds.
Still annoying though. |

Mine has always been a few minutes. It disappears as I enter the bypass. Wonder if it's a speed thing as that's the first time I get above 20. _________________ DashCam:

Would you leave your mobile phone lying around without an access code to unlock it? I doubt it. So why no security for our expensive sat navs? Would sat navs be so attractive to thieves if they knew they couldn't be used without knowing the unlock PIN? |

Garmin removed it because it was so easy to defeat. _________________ Where there's a will ... there's a way. |

Technology has moved on a lot since they did that, so I wouldn't have thought it would be too difficult to provide some decent security these days. As you quite rightly say, "where there's a will, there's a way" (within reason of course). |

My post is based on the unit being in the car and being auto fired up by the power cable from the car ignition. _________________ DashCam:
