been using the driveluxe now for a couple of weeks and quite happy with it
The main pros are being able to use the PGPSW speed cameras and having searchable 3rd Party POI. Lane guidance and junction views are better as not taking up fullscreen so can still see route ahead. The interface is a lot cleaner.
You can't customer the main menu screen or the bottom information bar like you could on previous models. I like to be able to see the distance left and arrival time, but you can't display both at the same time
The smartlink is good, but annoying - it seems to take control even if you try forcing you phone to the built-in car BT - also once connected via BT to the Garmin smartlink traffic kicks in and overrides the DAB signal - ideally would like an option to disable the traffic via smartlink so can use just the notifications or other features of the smartlink.
I did also notice when testing that BT likes to constantly disconnect.
Overall still impressed and device is working (now sending off my go5000 for another repair as TT have finally offered to do it for free even though the problems are software related and this will be the 4th unit) |

Are you sure? You should be able to display a sidebar called Trip data ... Which has 3 custom fields? See page 9 of the manual.
If it's not showing you may have to enable it ... it's at Settings, Map & Vehicle, Map Tools _________________ Where there's a will ... there's a way. |

i'll check that out as when saw tripdata thought that was for previous trips
also do you know if the eco-routes (prediction) is available so gives you an option to drive to predicted destination |

You can change the bottom menu (arrival tine) - think there is a choice of 3 fields.
If you want lots of options you can customise the trip data - worth doing for both unrouted and routed options.
The DriveLuxe gives you a choice of three options to take and will then show you the route you've chosen on the right hand side - lists 4 roads. You can set the DriveLuxe up to show 3 routes - each has its own colour _________________ DriveLuxe 51 LMT D - Firmware 6.70

Not sure about eco routes but if you want predicted routes you'll get that if your model has myTrends? _________________ Where there's a will ... there's a way. |

cheers - found out should be able to disable the traffic from smartlink and still have rest of notifications working - also mytrends is included, probably just forgot to enable the trip data - also need to look at the other bit for trip display and set that up and found can also change the alerts for traffic (not bothered about delays less than 5 minutes and also want it to timeout) so will be busy tonight |

had first routing issue today, due the accident on m1 was diverted off at j40 through horbury. it decided then to take me of the main road and down a deadend street but was showing route going round in circles.
for delay wise it was fine and showed these, but when asked to recalculate route it told me to drive to a road which i didnt know but without any route mapping.
overall it got me back to where i needed to be, but some of the routing was a bit weird |

Did you perform a full reset after the new .30 maps?
If I understand the posts I've seen here, a new map update can sometimes cause hardware v software issues often solved with a full master reset.

Asleep
Certainly worth a master reset after any software/map update if you're getting strange results. Of course it's also possible that was simply a one off due to a map error or a problem acquiring satellites at that particular moment. If walkerx can confirm the route then it can be looked at to see if there is a map error at that point. _________________ Where there's a will ... there's a way. |

Not updated to latest map yet as that appeared after updated last week - any how, this is what happened, coming down Sowood Ln which changes to Horbury Rd, it told me to right onto Horbury Rd, then Left onto South Terrace, then Left onto Sowood Ave, then to go back up Sowood Ln. Have look on google @ WF5 0DB location
At the end of Sowood Ave are bollards, so no through road back to main road.
I think the main problem was last night with the major smash @ J39 that all roads were blocked in surrounding areas, but it was good that it kept updating the traffic quickly.
I've also noticed that you can't use the smartlink features of parking, weather, notifications without having to use the smartlink traffic - ideally should be able to have option to use DAB even if connected via smartlink. |

As a newcomer to Garmin (having recently deserted the TomTom fold), is there an easy way to correct/report map errors to Garmin? _________________ Garmin DriveSmart 50 LMT-D |

Soft reset occurs when you fully shut down the device rather than just put it to sleep. While that can cure some issues and certainly if you always use sleep mode it's worth a try I suspect you'll need to do a full master reset. _________________ Where there's a will ... there's a way. |
