|
|
Hi
I loaded the POI edit program last night & used my ipaq 4700 with Tom 5.2 for the first time since today & the screen rather than give me smooth flowing views of the road is now very jerky. I can't see whats gone wrong. It auto updates perfectly & the items I expect to see are present but just very jerky.
Any ideas.
Thanks

This is a known problems with displaying POI's. What to do is go into manage POI's, then choose enable / disable. Disable all your POI's. This should now give you a smooth screen again.
You can still navigate to POI's.
For speed camera warnings, use 'warn near', choose a distance and a warning sound. This will still give you the smooth screen and the POI will give you a warning / show up when you get close to it.
Hope this makes sense.
Ps. The KFC database is a pain in the ****. I have got 336 at the moment though!! _________________ -------------------------------------------------------

Thanks for this, but why should the POIs being updated using POI sync have suddenly slowed down the screen. I have downloaed the database for cams & placed it manually where it should go & never experienced this before. Now however with auto update I have the problem. All of the POIs that were on the system prior to me using the system also never gave any issues.
Is it possible to go back to the old way?
Well done on the KFC database. |

I'm not sure on that one. Did you have the POI's showing on the screen before the auto update?? If not, then the autoupdate may have changed the settings in tomtom. _________________ -------------------------------------------------------

Yes the POIs showed on screen perfectly before the update. What settings do I need to look at.
Thanks John |

Change Preferences
Manage POI's
Enable / Disable POI or show / hide POI
Its worth a try. _________________ -------------------------------------------------------

I disabled all of the POIs & set the cameras to "warn near" & I am now back to a smooth screen. Just what I needed.
Thanks John |
