Newbie Advice Garmin 2610 -2620 or what

I am thinking of getting my first sat nav system so a few words
of advice would be welcome.
I am quite impressed with the Garmin 2610 and the 2620.
Which of these two would be the better option.
I would only be using it in the UK and France.
If i chose the 2610 what size CF card would i need to install
maps for those countries and which card do you suggest to get.
Is there the option to use the find by post code on these units,
Also is the screen big enough to see the mapping clearly.
As anyone any experience with either of these systems good or bad.
Or is there a better system to go for.
