Rikaline 6010 problems

I've had a scan down the forum and people seem to be having problems with their receivers so i'm not alone.

Mine is VERY tempremental. Sometimes I can get a lock on the satilites but when I do it never lasts for the whole journey. They will drop off and then it takes about 5mins to get a lock again.

I've tried reinstalling tom tom and the settings all seem to be fine on my 3950 because sometimes it works.

I've put the receiver on the roof of the car with a clear view of the sky and left it for about 2 hours and it still won't lock.

I don't know what else to try.

Is there a problem with my receiver? Thats the only thing I think it can be.

If it is then can anyone suggest a new receiver for me.
