France map software for Medion Sanav won't work

The new France map software CD from Medion contains a France map and various language readme files. The readme files give short installation routines which unfortunately do not work!
It tells you to open the Medion navigator and start the MapExport program. In the Mapexport main menu click on the select button to the right of the basic map field and select the CD-ROM drive containing the France CD. Then when you select the corridor or cut out area you get an error message box labelled "Problem" containing the message "Loading Failed. The <Drive>\France map couldn't be loaded"
Has anyone else bought this recently and have they found a solution?
And it was very expensive as you have to pay £70 for the CD AND buy the MMC card as well!!
