Hi Alaskalad
It's only due to TomTom not providing a 3rd party POI option that was in all their older satnavs that the database won't load. As soon as TomTom updates their software to include the option, the database is waiting for it.
Looking at the discussion forum section on TomTom's own site, a lot of Go600 etc users feel the same as you. There doesn't appear to be a response from TomTom themselves.

hi mate
i bought the tomtom start 60 last week ,soon as i found out about not being able to download 3 party poi's go the wife to take it back, and she came back with the garmin 2548 with free maps and digital traffic, really impressed with it,infact thinking of changing it to a garmin 3598 supposed to be the dog's dangly bits. Think tomtom are taking the mick with the cost of their maps and traffic subs also the garmin feels better as well.
hope this helps

Errrm....Sorry mate you got that wrong.... you CAN install POIs and PGPSW speed cams to the START 60.
It's only the new "NAV4" Android-based models (GO500/600/5000/6000) that can't do it yet. _________________ "Settling in nicely" ;-) |
