just bought a Tom Tom Start 55 USA from ebay, the guy says he bought it in USA, he has just messaged me to say that it wont work in UK only USA, it only has USA maps, but surely if i put UK maps on it will work..
Also will the USA car charger work UK cars? |

Yes, for the most part, US car chargers are compatible with European vehicles. _________________ David |

I can't think of any reason why it shouldn't work in the UK, so long as you put the UK map on it. _________________ "Settling in nicely" ;-) |

One thought - if you are out of the country, then it will show your position as on the edge of the map that exists ("the known world"). So it might look like it isn't actually working. |

I spend a lot of time in both the US and UK
Unless things have changed, you will probably have to set the country to USA in TT Home and then buy the UK maps from TT's US store.
The problem used to come when you needed to enter the Zip code for payment details. This might not be a problem now if you use Paypal. |
