Hi,

When I dock my ipaq, activesync kicks in and does it's thing. I then switch IPaq off. But when I look later, IPaq is powered on again on the today screen with backlight on.

Why does it turn back on and how do I stop it?

Regards

BH

BH - i think it is either something to do with the battery being full as mine switches itself on in the cradle (intermitently) if not could it be that a reminder from the calendar is switching it on to make you aware of an appointment Question

I don't use the calendar at the moment so not that. Battery full sounds possible. What a wate of the backlight though.

I think it has something to do with ActiveSync, when it knows that there is a ppc in its cradle, it sends a wakeup signal to the ppc every 10-15 mins in order to sync.

Try going into ActiveSync's options, Schedule tab, and change "When connected to my pc sync" From continuously to On Connection, and see if that helps.

You can also adjust the power properties in Advanced, you can select to Turn off device if not used for ... On external power, so that when ActiveSync turns on your Ipaq, it'll turn itself off after a min or so.

I can't do this because if and when I power the ipaq from the car whilst driving, it would switch off and I'd lose tom tom and then my way Joker
