I am considering purchasing the following
HP 2210
GlobalSat BC-307 Compact Flash GPS Card
A biggish SD card (256mb+)
and some software.
I see lots of software, like Tom Tom, aimed at drivers. I wondered if there was any software aimed at walkers instead of drivers? |

That's exactly the bundle I've assembled in the last few months - except I now have 3 SD cards (2 x 256, 1 x 512).
I've been using Memory Map whilst out walking, and using it in very much the same way I'd use a paper map - to work out where I am, and where I want to get to and then back in my map pocket (but still active so it logs my route).... I still carry the analogue compass and paper map too - but I can find out more reliably how far I've walked and the altitude gained etc when I get back to base. |

May I ask, are you satisfied with the setup. And does the GlobalSat BC-307 Compact Flash GPS Card drain the Ipaq battery? Might it be better to get a bluetooth GPS device? Many thanks, Regards. Alan. |

How do you get the batteries to last long enough, do you carry spares, or just turn it off quite a bit?
Im thinking of getting the mio168 but i notice it does not allow addtional batteries to be connected. I have seen external battery systems. has anyone experience of these? |
