Can some one tell me or point me to a thread. How do you install on to the SD card Go live 1005.

You put the card in the slot, and the TomTom will offer to format it for you. (This will be to a special format).

Once that is done, the card will be treated simply as an extension to the internal memory.

In other words, if you try to add something to the TomTom that is small enough to fit on the internal memory, that's where it will be put. But if it is too large to fit, then it will be put onto the SD card.

You can think of sneaky ways to fill up the internal memory in order to force something onto the card, but apart from that, the user has no control over what goes where. And to be honest, there's not a lot of point - just treat it like one big memory.

Are you sure? My Go Live 1005 doesn't appear to have an SD slot!

The early 1005 didn't have a SD slot. It was added to later 1005 models.
