Maybe if you have a unit with limited storage and want "Central Europe"?
I was going to try some experiments selecting different models in the drop-down box and maps of different regions, but then I realised you still don't get told you need a "zoned" version until you actually try to download it. _________________ "Settling in nicely" ;-) |

I know, I think it's yet more misinformation from TT (as usual) |

That's a bit unfair... If what I suggested above is right, then those are the maps you'd be offered, so they are right to tell you about them. _________________ "Settling in nicely" ;-) |

Well, to be fair I've never seen anything on any of the forums (legit or otherwise) mentioning that you would be asked which Zone you wanted to buy. |

That's because you don't BUY a zone, its not how the "zoned maps" system works.
You always buy the complete map (eg "Europe"), but when it comes to download and install it, Home works out if you have sufficient space, and if not, it offers to install one of the zones instead.
But you can still download all of the zones or the entire map if you can provide extra space (i.e. an SD card) _________________ "Settling in nicely" ;-) |

I have the Western Zone on the device with the UK POIs for use in the UK. _________________ TT Go Essential |

Thanks. I appreciate & understand all about the "normal" zoned West/East/South/North/Central maps etc if you haven't got space for the full Europe-wide map BUT what I don't understand is the 2 different Central and Eastern Europe Zone 1 & Central and Eastern Europe Zone 2 |

The principle is the same as with the Western Europe map, but instead of 5 zones it's just 2.
If you don't have space for all of the Eastern Europe map on your device you are offered to download either Zone1 or Zone2. You can download the other zone at a later stage if your circumstances change. _________________ Garmin Nuvi 2599
