|
|
Hi,
I've completed the following steps on my MacPro....
1. Downloaded the PocketGPS files from this site.
2. Connected my TomTom Start and copied the files directly into my 'UK_and_Republic_of_Ireland' map folder.
When using TomTom Home software, I can operate my Start and see the cameras. I can 'tick' them on or off. I can also see them when I browse the map.
However, when I disconnect the use Start, and use it normally, the cameras don't show up at all. Neither do they show up when I browse the map.
I'd be grateful for any help.
Thanks,
Andy

Did you follow ALL the steps - including configuring the alerts - here?? |

Hi,
Thanks for your quick reply.
My Start doesn't connect to MyTomTom, so I can.t use the Add Community option. However, it connects to TomTomHome fine.
Thanks,
Andy |

Which model do you have?
Did you try configuring the alerts on the DEVICE (rather than TomTomHOME)? |

I have a Start. Model = 1eX00
In TomTomHome, I can...
1. see the cameras in the POI Options menu.
2. tick/untick them.
3. see them when I browse the map.
On my device, I can...
1. see the camera in the POI Options menu.
2. tick/untick them.
...but I can't see them when I browse the map, and they don't show up when driving.
MyTomTom says 'not connected, even though 'Test connection' and 'Check availability' (in Settings) both show ticks when I hit them.
Many thanks for your time.
Hope this helps explain.

I'm afraid "1eX00" is not a model name (it's an internal TT part number).
To find your actual model name, enter the first two characters of your serial number (the one under the barcode) into the model finder here
I'm assuming it is a "Start" or "Start 2" and those are very basic models using the cut-down "Easymenu", where some functionality is missing.
As it says on the compatibility table,
Quote: | START and Ease do not offer functionality officially but this can be implemented via a custom menu. Please see the forums for details. |
However, that possibility could easily get broken at any time when TomTom do software updates.
Have a search through the forum for custom menu files and if you still have problems report back.
I realise we could do with a definitive set of instructions for these "crippled" models, but most of the people who write tutorials and suchlike tend to avoid the Easymenu models like the plague! _________________ "Settling in nicely" ;-) |
