Fix one thing break another.....
After updating the GPS driver and installing traffic, (yes I know i'm mad) it was working ok, well sort of. Help from Orange to config the PDA for GPRS and i was away.
I had successfully downloaded traffic info, new menu items had appeared, then it locked up. A restart later, the navigation screen was dark, no map, when map activated, it was set at night view. To try to fix this I accessed the navigation menu and the icons are duplicated. 2 columns both left and right icon the same. This also means I cannot now access some elements or navigate this menu area.
Also noticed that many of the settings had changed:-
1) night view has activated (cannot access the area to change it)
2) Safety speed had changed to 0 from the default (124?)
3) Voice instructions was unchecked
4) Left hand toolbar selected.
Plus many others......
Any ideas what caused or how to fix?
Fraser

Thanks for the feedback. Glad to hear I'm not the only one, paranoia was setting in! It's getting to the stage that I expect a problem rather than expecting it to work! The worrying thing is that there was no catastophic occurance that could have caused the problem. Just 'normal' use, (if there is such a thing!)
I had been working on several areas, usually a recipie for disaster, but from Traffic working OK to a system stop, nothing obvious.
BTW, i've emailed TomTom with both the original issue and the update.
Having said that, I've still several other q's outstanding with only the we'll getr back to you response. They must be having so much fun, hardly surprising with so many different platform permutations and other setups possible.
