TomTom XL Live HD Traffic Settings

In the manual it says

Changing HD Traffic preferences

1. Tap TomTom Traffic in the Main Menu.
2. Tap Change Traffic preferences.
3. To hear a beep sound when a new traffic incident occurs on your route,
select Beep when traffic situation on route changes and then tap Done.


when i go to change traffic preferences it does not give the option select beep warning spound just the the option to quicker route if available

is the manual wrong or am i looking in wrong place/menu to change settings
i would like it to beep when traffic occurs as i dont always notice a change in traffic status bar

The manual is out of date I think. It is some years since it would beep.

But in Traffic Preferences, you should still have a tickbox for "Report if Traffic on route changes".

If that is ticked, it gives you another screen of options, and if you select "Ask me if I want that route" then I think you should get a full screen alert if the traffic situation changes and also the option to take an alternative route or not.

A beep or some other noise when the TomTom detects a change of traffic would actually be useful.

I have the unit set to automatically switch to better routes. The message which flashes up only stays for a couple of seconds which is easy to miss. A quick beep would alert me to the change.
