Can someone flag the post which mentioned the file to alter if your RDS TMC traffic isn't operating properly.
Have tried search but had no joy unfortunately.
I can see the green pulsing icon top right of screen, but it never gives me any traffic data even after hour or so on a trip.
Have tried manually changing frequencies but no improvements

The gns folder probably contains two files: "gnsdata" and "TmcEApi.so". Try renaming the "gnsdata" file to "gnsdataold" and see if that fixes it. _________________ Paul |

Unfortunately hasn't cured.
I recall a post though can't find about changing the values in
a certain file to zeros; any clues?
Thanks |

The file that you change to 00000 11111 or 22222 only applies to TomTom's running version 7.903 software. This is the latest version available for the x10 range. If you try to change that file on a 720 (as your signature) it will not work. _________________ Paul |

You could try changing the layout of the antenna. Various different layouts have been found to be "perfect" - that is, perfect for one person, rubbish for someone else! Bit of a lottery, really.
Sadly, RDS-TMC is not hugely reliable for connection to the service. Mine comes and goes. Sometimes it's OK, sometimes not. I have alongside it, RDS-TMC in a built-in Carminat TomTom - the antenna on that is incorporated into the radio aerial and "seems" to get better connection. I say "seems", but I'm not 100% convinced, I sometimes wonder if it isn't just the firmware telling me there's a green blob even if there isn't! Having said which, I find that I get different traffic information from three devices running alongside each other simultaneously - 520T, Carminat (both RDS-TMC) and 550 Live using HD Traffic. _________________ Dennis
