I have looked at all the related links for this. Can anyone explain how to get the device info from the device. I have tried all sorts (holding info button down etc) HELP HELP !! |

I would start with a Renault dealer bur doubt they will be much help, you will need a new SD card and it will cost for a replacement map, might be worth giving TomTom support a ring in the morning on 0845 161 0009 and see if they can offer any specific advice - Mike |

Have you tried TomTom themselves yet? They probably won't be any more help, but if you mention the word "stolen" they might take pity on you, if you can show them invoices etc.
You can't just reload any old map, as each one is locked to a specific device's (or SD card's) serial number. _________________ "Settling in nicely" ;-) |

Ring TomTom as previously advised. They sell maps on SD card for Carminat, so that should solve your problem - cost you £106 for Europe one, though - ask if they'll sell you just a UK and ROI one. _________________ Dennis

I'm in my Renault dealership right now.
A new SD card will cost £111.79 including VAT and strangely same price for UK/ROI or Europe.
Part numbers UK - 259204051R
Europe - 259201555R.
I wouldn't be greatly surprised at dealers charging different prices for different cars - the above prices were quoted for my Kangoo van, but I bet you'd get this cheaper price if you simply asked for the part number in the sales shop. But they are obviously cheaper if you order direct from TomTom online. _________________ Dennis

Out of interest Dennis, how did you find that price from TomTom?
I just went to have a look on their website and even though I selected "buy a new map" rather then "update my old one", it insisted I ran "Home".
It then told me to put my existing card into a card-reader attached to the PC before it would let me have a price for a new one.
Not very useful if you've lost the old one! _________________ "Settling in nicely" ;-) |

It's an elite membership... we don't let just [u]anyone[/] in, you know.
So how do TT justify that price when an identical Europe map with IQ routing on SD card for the PND models is only £69.95? _________________ "Settling in nicely" ;-) |

It's what silly rich owners will pay. Just in the options, there is a very significant difference in price if you opt for Europe map instead of UKROI. Market forces or gullible, take your pick. I've only got a Carminative in my van because it came as standard - free, if you want to think that - my model version has loads of free extras, because I'm gullible enough to believe they are free on my much dearer model. That's cos I'm a aaaaaaardnorhernerpants. _________________ Dennis
