I bought a Garmin 2360LT 30/12. Due a number of hiccups Garmin offered to replace it. Subsequently I exchanged today(02/1) the original for another 2360LT.
Strangely the replacement has only 1 USB port which is a micro USB port. The original had two a micro and a normal mini USB port??? I now cannot charge the unit using a Garmin 240volt charger as it has the normal mini USB male fitting. This means I cannot charge the GPS unless it is charged by the car.
How many USB ports should I have on this model? _________________ Wal |

Are you sure it's different on the unit itself?
According to the manual for that series, there is a mini USB on the mount and a micro USB on the device itself
This is the same as on some recent TomTom models. There seems to be a move to standardise on micro-USB in the future and this is the first stage. _________________ "Settling in nicely" ;-) |

Thanks Andy, much appreciated. Seems the original example I had was an interim version with a mini and micro socket in the body of the device. You have nailed the answer to the problem. All I have now to do is bring the mount and GPS to the house and connect to the 240 volt charger IF the battery needs charging this way. |

You could also try a search on Google, Amazon or eBay for "mini to micro usb adapter". They are only a couple of pounds.
Make sure you get one going from mini to micro though! The other way round seems more common. _________________ "Settling in nicely" ;-) |

Thanks, I had a browse and found nothing in ebay or Amazon. No great effort to bring in the unit and charge at 240V on occasion. _________________ Wal |
