Hi folks, maybe I'm coming at this from the wrong angle but things aren't quite as as easy as I hoped they'd be....
1. I'm making several POI files by taking NGRs (converting them on 'Locations 1.12' on psion 5mx) and plotting them as Latt/Long on Fugawi UK to check that they are correct. I then ouput these waypoints as a txt file. Then I change the extension to asc.
2. When I open this file under POI Edit the columns are the wrong way round - ie, it shows Longitude before Lattitude, so....
3. I save it as an xml file, then open Excel and swap the two columns round. I save the file, BUT now when I try to open it under POI Edit it won't open. (Checking the original xml file, it opens fine under POI Edit)
So my questions to the panel are,
Does anyone know how to swop the columns easily in POI edit, or
Does anyone know what I'm doing wrong under excel.
(The tedious work-round on this is to edit the text file - But there are several hundred coordinates to do !! :x )
TIA

If you create a text file (.ASC) with entries in the following format
NGR, "Description"
then you can use my program POIConverter to create a TomTom Navigator overlay. The latest version is in the Programs area on http://rjdavies.users.btopenworld.com

OK thanks. I'll do what you say with the NGR conversion on the next batch of coordinates.
Also I see that your lovely programme also handles .xls format, so I shall try doing that with the existing files and see if I can make it happen.
I'll let you know how I get on but right now I'm going to bed (just finished the night shift Zzzzzzzzz )
Many thanks

What is the format of your basic data, before you start swapping things around?
I exported the coordinates from Fugawi as a .txt file, and then changed the extension to .asc
However, I've got it sorted now I did everything I described in top post but this time saved the POIedit output in .xls format, rather than .xml - and it all works beautifully.
Many thanks for your help,
