I have just downloaded the camera database to my Mitsubishi Barbarian. I followed the instructions and transferred from the computer using a CD.
However, I rarely use CDs as I am a photographer by profession and always have 100s of blank DVDs in stock.
My question is therefore can I do the same job with a DVD, or do I have to use CDs? If so then I'll get some in stock.

It will only work if you car stereo supports DVD disks, if it doesn't then no, it won't work. You will have to use standard CD-R.
Probably as quick to try it though, than to wait for a definitive answer! _________________ "Settling in nicely" ;-) |

Ah, it plays DVDs AND I've just read the updating instructions in the Kenwood manual and there is a paragraph entitled 'Updating the Map with a DVD', so I guess the answer is DVDs are okay. That'll same me ordering some then.

It may pay to check if it will read Cd-rw or dvd -rw, these are rewritable and will save you wasting a dvd or cd everytime you update. _________________ Moto G5s Plus, Sygic 17.4.8 |

Thanks for that but the instructions say the disc MUST be finalised or it won't load. Actually I buy DVD blanks by the hundreds so they only cost a few pence each.
