Pluged my tomtom in this morning and there is a new update waiting
As per usual I have no idea what the outcome will be ...
But looks like it might be a bit faster which would be nice ..hopefully the constant reboots will be gone too _________________ TomTom 5001 |

9.058 has actually been available since last year and does indeed work better/cleaner than the previous 9.054 |

In TT support 9.026 is still given as the x50 version - no sign of 9.054 or 9.058 [at least at 8.00am this morning]. They've changed the way they list navcores as well. _________________ Mike R [aka Wyvern46]

9.058 is an old but the latest update.
9.120 is a leaked BETA NavCore according to TomTom.
Thread subject updated for accuracy. |

That list is notorious for being out of date or just plain wrong.
v9.058 was publicly released on Thu Sep 16, 2010, so I don't know where the OP has been hiding all this time!

Yes they love adding more and more drop-down boxes!
Just makes it less readable! |

How can they say it was a leaked BETA when it's still available to download? Do they really know what they're talking about?
PS can someone please post a link to where on tt.com there is a meaningful list of apps per device as I couldn't find it. TIA |

OK they didn't use the word leaked.

It's leaked in the sense that only those who should have access to it (TT Beta testers) should know the URL to download it. The URL shouldn't have been disclosed by anyone under the NDA however TT make these things very easy to find and don't use any checks to see who is downloading it... |

I wonder why 9.120 is only specified for the 750 when the 550 is exactly the same device save for the maps & maybe a sticker with 750 on it. I've been using it on my 550 without any problems, oo er, I suppose that means I'm a clandestine TomTom Beta Tester |

How long do they test before releasing a new version? Are we anywhere near a 9.120 public release? _________________ Mike R [aka Wyvern46]

Who knows? 9.120 might never be publically released.
Put it this way i first told TT of the issues with the 9.058 Navcore on 18/09/2010 10.46 AM
They finally admitted there was an issue 22/10/2010 11.24 AM
Quote: | This is XXX with Tom Tom Customer Support. Our applications have reviewed the system information have confirmed the traffic bar is loading slower than it should. They have advised me that there will be a navcore update that should improve the loading time. Currently there is not a release date set so please update your device when the next application is released. As you are part the Live Services it is advised to connect to Tom Tom Home and update once a week. Thank you for you feedback regarding this matter. |
Since then i have been onto them every 4-6 weeks. The latest news was 04/03/2011 01.16 PM
Quote: | I've not been made aware of any updates for the x50s or x40s with the application version that you mentioned so I took this to my 2nd line team for them to look into.
They've advised that there is an application with this version number [9.012] but it is in testing and development at the moment and has not been released for public use.
Unfortunately, I cannot advise when it will be made available- the developers may find flaws which postpone it's release. |
When, and if, they ever release an update..... |

Some people found that 9.058 was not automatically offered to 9.054 users by Home, and it had to be forced to download by removing 9.054, then updating.
Looks like this new Home resolved that, but the fix seems to have removed the option to refuse an application update.
The forum poll on the time x40s and x50s take to connect to HD traffic seems to indicate that there is a problem for the majority of x40 users and a minority of x50 owners. You would hope [?] that TT would consider this situation needs resolving, and issue an application update. _________________ Mike R [aka Wyvern46]
