Left slider on the GPS screen ZZZ mode permits the PPC to go on standby after inactivity.otherwise TomTom will keep the PPC on,this is important when you run on batteries because it could drain the battery.

Leave well alone

hope this helps

Thanks TTrevor, problem is I don't remember where it was set before I hard reset my iPAQ.

Are you saying it should be in ZZZ mode (slider to left)?

Thanks again

Just to confuse you SPY, I have mine set to the right. I found it especially useful if I wanted to take the PPC out of its holder in the car (hardwired to the car supply) and fiddle with it before I put it back in the holder and back on car power. However if you do leave it on by mistake, as ttrevor says, you risk draining the battery.

The slider does have a default to the left.

You should leave the slider to the Right if you don't want the PPC to enter Standy when the GPS is active (this would normally only occur when on battery power).

It has no effect when TomTom is not running and likewise if TomTom is active but no GPS is connected then it does not interfere with your power settings and will enter standby as normal.
