Well I'm afraid the consensus seems to be that, as there is so little user access to the GO 1000 functions, and so many functions are not yet activated by TT, all you can do is call customer services. 0845 161 0009 [pinched from mike alders' post].

Well yes, it will take you from A to B. So it fulfills its advertised purpose. Live services are on the list of functions not yet available. Have you seen the review thread? http://www.pocketgpsworld.com/modules.php?name=Forums&file=viewtopic&t=84333

Hi abercomp,

My 1000 unit allows me to access google and the weather functions. For the cheap fuel it just states 'not available' but TT have already told us that this feature will not be included with the 1000. The issue I have is that live services report three different end dates for live services.

When I plan a route the HD traffic works.

I can only suggest you call TT tomorrow it really frustrating when you have paid £279 for a product. I hope you will post back here after you have spoken to them.

Lee

thanks Could it be that i set my account up on the unit before i got a gps fix ? if so is there a way to fix it my self

thanks

You should have Live services on the unit, someone mentioned Fuel prices, this won't work on the 1K as its not included but the HD Traffic, Google Search and Weather should all be working.

Within the menus on the device you will find Settings/ Restore Factory Defaults pressing this will return the device to the same state as when you first took it out of the box, this is the ONLY user option when dealing with the new Go-1000.
The next options are to phone TomTom Customer Support (0845 161 0009) with the final option being to send it back.

When you create your username make sure its unique to that device and hasn't been used for any previous TomTom units. Their server cannot cope with more than a single device locked to a single e-mail, this is claimed to be a "security measure" but considering you can use "M.Mouse@Disney.com" as an e-mail for the device I fail to see how its anything to do with security - Mike

I think you will have to contact customer services tomorrow and get them to restore the Live services for you. You could try a factory reset from the 'Settings' menu. Can't do any harm and may work. You will have to reset your personal preferences again, though.

Edit: Sorry, Mike your comprehensive fix it posted while I was not looking Wink

I'm glad you have HD Traffic, I'd just interpreted the list provided by Support as those things not yet available as including HD....sorry.

There's a 'Reset' option? Why did I not know about that - everything will be fine now.

With the Go-1000 there are two reset options:

Basic reset, press and hold the power button until the device re-boots, this takes around 20 seconds of "button pushing".

Full reset, press Settings then press the left side arrow where you will find "Reset Factory Settings" - Mike

The e-mail address used for any TomTom product needs to be unique to that device, if you use the same e-mail address for more than one device then you will have great "fun" when you try and update it with a new map or pay for services.

Its possible to get device accounts sorted out by TomTom but its best to avoid this situation by inventing "new" e-mail addresses for each device, the e-mail address doesn't have to actually work - Mike

Nothing to lose by trying a hard reset first.

Would it work if I hard reset my 1000 and registered the unit to avoid any conflict or would be best to contact TT and let them make any amendments?

Thanks in advance.

You should be able to do it yourself. Do the hard reset. Then connect via TT Home3. If My TomTom does not open, click on the Home3 dialog box 'My TomTom online' then in the top right of that web page, create a new account.

If that does not give you a result, you always have the backup of ringing them to sort you out tomorrow.
