Hi
When I try and download the free POI's, I never see any categories to review. I just get the red writing telling me it is downloading - however after I refresh when nothing happens, nothing happens.
Hope you can help

What browser, how many POIs are you trying to download? _________________ Darren Griffin |

Internet Explorer 7
1. shows TomTom (OV2)
2. UK box ticked.
3. Says :Loading POI categories (if this takes more than 1 minute please refresh selected country above)...
If I then refresh with Other (CSV) in 1. (I've got a Garmin Zumo 550 and a TomTom 920T it goes back to the same as above.
Don't see any POI categories.
Thanks

Are you able to retry using an alternative browser such as Firefox? _________________ Darren Griffin |

Tried with Firefox and have now downloaded some POI's.
Interestingly when I refreshed in Firefox, I got the same screen as before without the categories!!?
Thanks

Good evening,
I am also having the same problem.
Tried Internet Explorer and Firefox but same outcome.
Feeling very frustrated as a newbie to this site
Will keep trying.

Have you tried clearing your cookies, switching off your firewall and setting any script blockers, such as Firefox's NoScript, to allow this site?
I always use Firefox, without difficulties, so I think the problem probably lies within your PC and not here.
(I don't like Firefox's download tool though and much prefer Internet Download Manager plus ZipGenius.)
Good luck!

I use IE7 and have never found a problem with it, the only problem l do have is with the server or database itself not showing the list, but usually a refresh or if particullarly bad trying later usually cures this, personally I dont think thier is any inherrant problem with ie7 or any browser I just take it in my stride, anybody who blames the browser is just passing the buck. _________________ Moto G5s Plus, Sygic 17.4.8 |

It may have been the site - for some reason.
I was adding poi's the last few days and yesterday (30th) found it to be slow on occasions. In fact it locked up on me at one point and I had to log out and back in again.
I also had to try the 'download poi' a couple of times to get it to work.
Running OSX 10.5.5 and FF.
No problems today though.
It just seems to happen now and then.
I did notice a new news item the second time I logged on yesterday, so maybe when the site is being updated, it slows down a little??
Just a guess. _________________ Triumph Tbird 1700. And now a Bonnie T100. |

Doh! I assumed EUR included UK, just saw the separate UK download. |

I've never had any problem getting the categories to display in the past (using Firefox 2)
However, a couple of days ago I finally bit the bullet and updated to Firefox 3, and since then, the POI categories will hardly ever display first time (or even after a "refresh").
I have to keep trying over and over or switch to the IE tab extension which USUALLY sorts it, but annoyingly if I switch to it AFTER I have tried in FF, I get a message "Error in selection criteria. Please select at least one category or subcategory" and then the "Back to download section" link doesn't work either, so I have to start from scratch
Something a bit flakey somewhere..... (in the Java?) |

Yes, I've found the same since updating to Firefox 3.
Such a shame as, after struggling with IE ever since the POIs were first offered and eventually giving up on them, I couldn't believe how fast and reliable the category display was when I switched to Firefox. _________________ Anita

That's strange, because I rarely have a problem with FF3. _________________ Richard

Mmmm - I've just tried it and it loaded straight away!
I've also only recently updated to FF3, and only downloaded POIs a couple of times since, so maybe it was coincidence and either the site or my connection was slow, and FF wasn't at fault after all!
I'll keep an eye on it. _________________ Anita

Using FF3 I have been getting this problem more often.
If you click on the Download button while it is still saying loading categories and then click on the "back" link the list comes up immediately |
