I'm sure I've had my unit over a year, and my route planner access still works. Have I misunderstood?
Would like to know if I need to renew, as there is a half price offer on until the end of today

Moose,
I was under the impression, rightly or wrongly, that access to the Route Planner was a one off payment or,in the case of early adopters, free for life.
I have never seen it written anywhere that it was a yearly subscription.

I have found this on the Satmap web site FAQ:
Qestion: Is access to the Route Planner and Route Share Network available indefinitely. The terms and conditions on my Active 10 PLUS voucher say it is valid for one year?
Answer: We had to put a one year valid date as we can't sell a product which doesn't exist. So long as Ordnance Survey renew our licence we can automatically renew your access to the Route Planner and Route Share Network.
Hope this helps.

Thanks for the T&C's Jean, I did find those, I just didn't understand them
I'm hoping it is an access for life, as I've only just learned how to use it properly (yes, I'm being a little slow!)

I am just waiting for it to be expanded to a full page view as promised nine months ago.
For £80 a shot ( normal price ) that is the very least that it should be.
It can't be selling too well or Satmap wouldn't have reduced it.I don't think I would pay £80 for it.

Can anyone tell me about these better ones that are free. Perhaps links could be posted here for them. |

This is one at the walkhighlands site - it used to be Mike the Hugg. 1:25K & 1:50K of the whole country. Download & upload gpx files.
You need to register now, but it's free.

Another is the Gmaps pedometer. Make sure you set it to draw route manually. This one is useful as it can use the sattelite image. Also tells you how many calories you use! Again you can export the .gpx file
