Should Go950 Live services work in USA?

I remember seeing that the Go940 Live services work in America and wondered should my UK Go950 work? Currently in LA and under network I show nothing with not connected. Bit of a shame if it doesn't work. With my o2 mobile I can only connect to the AT&T network with the phone in 3G mode, attempt to connect 2g only and I get no access. Perhaps the 950 only has a euro bands gsm chip.


The 950 at no point on my two week holiday connected to a mobile network so I guess the 950 was not designed to work in the USA even though the device comes with a USA map.
