I'M LOOKING FOR A GPS THAT HAS THE FOLLOWING:

BATTERIES (NOT PLUG IN) (EITHER THROW AWAY BATTERIES OR RECHARGE)
IT'LL WORK AND UPDATE WHILE DRIVING
KINDA SMALL, MABEY A LITTLE BIGGER THAN A PACK OF SMOKES

IT NEEDS TO SHOW:

SCENIC/RUSTIC/HISTORIC ROADS
TAVERNS/BARS
HOTELS
CAMPGROUNDS

EACH OF THESE OPTIONS ARE VERY IMPORTANT TO ME, IF THE GPS DOSEN'T HAVE ONE OF THESE OPTIONS I PROBABLY CAN'T USE IT.

THANKS MUCH AND I HOPE TO HEAR SOME GOOD IDEAS FOR YOU GUYS!

A couple of your requirements are near enough impossible, I'm afraid.

The only SatNavs I know of specifically designed for use on motorbikes (waterproof etc.) are the Garmin Zumo and the TomTom Rider (Versions 1 and 2)

Both have internal rechargeable batteries, but neither is designed to be used on battery power for very long. TT say "up to" 5 hours, but I wouldn't expect much more than 2-3 hours use on a full charge. The Zumo manual states upt o 4 hours "depending on usage" so I expect it is similar.

I know some people use other models, either in a plastic bag or in their pocket and just use the voice instructions. Neither method terribly satisfactory, I'd have thought.

Neither of them "update" as you are driving, what were you hoping to update?

The places you want it to show (bars, scenic routes etc. are all likely to be available as ADD-ON points of interest files. I know the TomTom has built-in POIs for camp sites and Hotels, but I wouldn't trust them to be particularly complete, better to get them from elsewhere (maybe from this site).

Hope that helps, but any chance you could turn your caps lock off next time?
