Can someone point me to the instalation instructions for this please.
I have forgotten since v 1 how I did it.
Following the instructions on the PromaSoft site has confused me. I cannot get a new ID number to show neither do I have the two new icons referred to.
Thanks for your help |

As one of the beta testers for version 2, hopefully I've got this right. There is, unfortunately, no manual yet - the developer wanted to get a public release as soon as possible, and is still working on more features. There are features from GPSAssist 1 that are not yet implemented in version 2, but Jo wanted to make a public release of what has been implemented and tested so far. Do consider joining the beta test group - there's more details about that on the web site.
I presume you've got GPSAssist 2 installed - as is usual for Pocket PC programs, run the setup.exe with ActiveSync running and your Pocket PC connected. You will need to unzip the program as it's supplied zipped.
Once you've done that, run GPSAssist from the Programs menu. Tap Help at the bottom of the screen, then Register. That will display the dialog that gives you the details you need to send off for your unlock code, and where you can enter your version 2 unlock code and tap Accept.
Does that help?

Hello David,
I have v2 installed in the Program Files where my V1 is installed.
However the icon in Startup/Programs [which is probably the one left from V1] is now dead. The two new icons spoken of do not appear.
The shortcut icon in Start mearly loads V1.
I am currently talking to PromSoft to try to sort this out. They are advising me to reinstall all of it again.
Do I need to remove version 1/2 or is V2 an addon to that programme. |

Uninstall everything to do with GPSAssist, and install just version 2, which is a total rewrite in a different programming language, and doesn't need version 1 installed at all (I neither used nor installed version 1).

You were quite right. After an exchange of e-mails with PromSoft, I removed V2 then re installed it.
Everything is now working fine, though I have not actually used it on the road as yet.
Thanks for your help. |
