Hi,
Will make this short:
Is there a way to format this nuvi to its original conditionp? (I am thinking format clean install like windows 7). I may have deleted the 2010 europe base maps, and I am now left with europe 2008 maps... I tried factory reset, but does not seem to work. The only way left I think is buying garmin maps which cost £50 for one time or £100 for unlimited life. I have seen some "free" ones online..
As a result, when I turn on the garmin, it says (c) 2008, 2009 Navteq
When I check the map info, it says CN Europe NT 2010.10. This seems slightly weird to me.
Will direct copying of another 1310 files onto this one solve the problem?
Is there a way to install every map on the device? There is a lot of free space on the machine and external 4gb hd, and I thought I would just upload everything on it.
How do you differentiate between those gampsupp.img? How to upload other maps if all are called gmapsupp.img?
As this is a widescreen version, I notice that it says it supports multiple junction view, but all I get in simulation are the junctions seperating when you come to a busy interchange. Is there a way to install those cool lane assist junction view from higher up models? I assume that this is a memory thing and not hardware issue. Correct me if I am wrong. Another thing, I don't really see where the lane assist comes up. The maps are showing directions as normal. Anyone has a link to a video showing lane assist vs no lane assist, and lane assist, vs lane assist with junction view? I tried google but did not come up with anything good.
On to the numaps questions (if I cannot restore my garmin maps back to normal):

Can only answer your questions on the map updates -
NuMaps Lifetime will work if purchased direct from Garmin or any reputable reseller (ie. Amazon, etc.) - these are often £10-£20 less, but buying from Garmin means instant activation
You cannot (should not) download any free map data from another website other than if offered under your Latest Map Guarantee from the MyGarmin Dashboard (check there to see if you can restore the map data - although it is probably not gone anywhere from what you have said)
NuMaps allows lifetime updates (lifetime of the unit as Garmin sees it) - UP TO 4 times per year - with the map coverage you purchase (normally as supplied with the unit). It won't work with another Nuvi or if you buy a new one, its not transferable. You can of course, like I have, purchase multiple NuMap licences for different units
Hope this helps - and if your Map Info says 2010 then it probably is - log on to MyGarmin check out your dashboard and it will tell you if new maps are available and what they are _________________ TomTom Go Live 6100, 600
